5 Diet Meals That Suck Way Less When You Add Dip to Them

No one wants to hear you complaining about your new sugar-free, carb-free, gluten-free, calorie-free, happy-free diet. How can you not, though? Let’s face it, part of being on a healthy diet is complaining about it every five minutes. However, those healthy, tasteless diets just got better with this simple fix.

These five common recipes are in the trick bag of every unhappy dieter. Unless you’re a wiz in the kitchen or have all the time in the world to make these recipes actually taste like something other than cardboard, simply adding a little dip makes a world of difference. Try it for yourself.

1. Chicken and Veggies

Aw yes, the number one staple. You’ve got your chicken, your broccoli, a little oil, salt, pepper, and unsurprisingly, not a whole lot of flavor. What you need is a quick, easy fix that will give this diet meal a little pizzazz.

Add just two tablespoons of this Pistachio Roasted Pepper dip. It has crushed pistachios and roasted poblano peppers in a lime cilantro cream that packs a serious flavor punch. “How could something this tasty be compliant with my boring diet,” you ask? Each serving only has 40 calories, three grams of fat, two carbs and no sugar! Even Rachel Ray has praised this dip!

2. Spinach and Eggs

The breakfast of dieter champions! You’ve got your protein packed eggs, magic make-you-skinny spinach, salt, and pepper. Do you need anything else? Oh yea, taste. Sure, you could add a little cheese to make this breakfast a little more manageable, but do you really want to add 110 calories just for some shredded cheddar? Is that worth it? No. But I’ll tell you what is. Queso Completo.

This rich cheddar queso “complete” with roasted corn, black beans, onions, poblano and jalapeno peppers, fresh Roma tomatoes and garlic is a dip you won’t forget. Low calories and pretty much low everything, heated up a little, it’s sure to take your spinach and eggs to the next level.

3. Protein Burger

Yes, it’s easy to make. No, eating a burger without bread is not satisfying. However, it can be. If you like spinach, artichokes, and lemon peppery cream, then your boring protein burger can start packing a punch with just a little Spinach Artichoke Dip added to it.

Stop worrying about spending time finding the right seasoning for your meat only to be sorely disappointed. With only 20 calories, this low fat, low carb dip will practically make you forget you’re on a diet.

4. Zucchini Noodles

The health craze that’s sweeping the nation! Switching out zucchini for pasta in order to make sad spaghetti and meatballs. With a little Spinach Avocado Dip though, zucchini suddenly makes sense. With a combination of spinach, avocado and cream with sundried tomatoes, onions, poblano peppers, cilantro and lime, it’s even better with zucchini noodles than it is with regular pasta.

5. Salad

The dieter’s go-to. Salad doesn’t have to be the same old pathetic meal it’s always been! You can start giving it the taste of the mediterranean for the low cost of just 15 calories.

You’ll be amazed at what the taste of artichokes, roasted red bell, onions, olives, sundried tomatoes, parmesan cheese, garlic, lemon and fresh basil can do for you. The Marvelous Mediterranean Medley dip was an Austin People’s Choice winner, probably because it’s made the most basic diet meal something to get excited about.
